Crown Book/Pocket Prints

Project Prompt
This assignment is essentially a crash course in the basic techniques of typesetting and image-making in letterpress. We will explore handset type, collaged and layered printing, and pressure printing. In a series of demos, you will be able to print, layer and experiment on multiple sheets of paper. You might consider creating a calling
card, or business card as part of this assignment. You’ll learn the basics of registration, mixing ink, preparing paper, cleaning the press and the basics of make-ready. You will then edit these prints and assemble the best ones into the pockets of a folded
Crown Book.
